Ja-Waun Moore is a nationally recognized speaker, educator, and former collegiate athlete known for his powerful message on self-leadership, resiliency, and identity development. A first-generation college graduate, Ja-Waun has earned recognition as an award-winning educator and mentor, including being named Advisor of the Month at the University of Nebraska - Omaha. With a background spanning education, athletics, and leadership development, he now works with students, athletes, and organizations to strengthen engagement, elevate performance, and build leaders from the inside out.
Behind his success is a story shaped by adversity. Ja-Waun faced poverty, learning challenges including ADHD, and personal battles with depression and anxiety that impacted his confidence, identity, and direction. Like many, he struggled silently while trying to meet the expectations and find his place. Instead of allowing those challenges define him, he made the decision to take ownership of his life, rebuild his identity, and develop the discipline and mindset that would change his trajectory. Today, Ja-Waun uses his journey to challenge others to confront their own limitations, take control of their story, and execute a vision that rises above their circumstances.
Ja-Waun Moore is committed to intentionally pouring into the next generation through coaching, mentorship, and community impact. Having worked closely with individuals in both academic & athletic environments, he focuses on developing confidence, discipline, and self-leadership in those he serves.
His impact extends beyond speaking, as he actively contributes to his community through outreach initiatives, mentorship, and personal giving that supports underserved populations and expands access to opportunity. Whether in schools, on the court, or in the community, Ja-Waun's mission is to develop the next generation from the inside out and equip them to lead, grow, and thrive beyond their circumstances.
